Michael Vick and his Dad

Michael Boddie holds up a photo of him with his wife, Brenda Vick Boddie and son Michael Vick, taken in happier times.QB's dad says he didn't abandon family By BY MATT KEMPNER

The Atlanta Journal-ConstitutionPublished on: 08/24/07Michael Vick's father said he pushed his son to quit dogfighting years ago or, at least, put property used for the fights in the name of friends to avoid being implicated some day.Michael Boddie, in two sometimes tearful interviews with The Atlanta Journal-Constitution this week, said some time around 2001 his son staged dogfights in the garage of the family's home in Newport News, Va. Boddie also said Vick kept fighting dogs in the family's backyard, including injured ones — "bit up, chewed up, exhausted" — that the father nursed back to health.longtime friends were the main instigators of the dogfighting operation."I wish people would stop sugarcoating it," Boddie said. "This is Mike's thing. And he knows it."He "likes it, and he has the capital to have a set up like that."Daniel Meachum, an attorney for Vick, said his client never mentioned situations described by Boddie, nor discussed Boddie in relation to dog activities. "It's a disgrace Mr. Boddie, who chose for nearly 22 years not to be part of Mike's life, would at this time seek to capitalize on his son's current situation."Vick's mother, Brenda Vick Boddie, who hasn't lived with her husband for the past five years, did not return calls seeking comment.Boddie said he and the Atlanta Falcons quarterback have had a volatile relationship for years and that his son has refused to speak with him directly for the last 2 1/2 half months. Boddie said he is speaking out because he's been hurt by his son and wife's failure over the years to correct what he considers inaccurate media reports that Vick grew up without his father present."I've been drug through the mud," Boddie said.He said he intends to write a damaging book about more of what he knows.Boddie, 45, lives in a Duluth apartment that his son has paid the rent on for the last three years. Vick, who has a $130 million contract with the Falcons, also gives him a couple of hundred dollars every week or two, the father said.Boddie wanted more. Two years ago, he said, he asked Vick for $1 million, spread out over 12 years, enough to keep him comfortable for the rest of his life. Vick declined, the father said. In recent weeks, Boddie asked Vick, through an assistant, for $700,000 to live on.Boddie said he hasn't been contacted by federal investigators pursuing dogfighting accusations against Vick. A federal grand jury indicted Vick with one count of conspiracy to cross state lines to engage in illegal gambling; to sponsor a dog in an animal fighting venture; and to buy, transport and receive dogs for animal fighting. The indictment does not mention the parents' former home in Newport News, where Boddie said he cared for Vick's pit bulls and where he said three dogfighting session were held, roughly around the time that Vick was transitioning from college football to the pros.Earlier this week, Vick agreed to plead guilty Monday in the federal dogfighting case in Richmond. He faces prison and the possible end of his football career. Three co-defendants already pleaded guilty and were expected to testify against Vick if the case went to trial. In addition, a Virginia prosecutor is considering bringing state charges against Vick.Anger and anguishBoddie lives in an apartment, just a few miles from where his son lives in the upscale, gated Sugarloaf neighborhood. Posters of the football star are thumb-tacked to the walls of a guest bedroom. A picture of Vick's two young children is framed on a wall near the kitchen. Hung on a wall beside the kitchen sink is a long list entitled "Quick Drink Recipes."In language blanketed with profanity, a sometimes sitting, sometimes pacing Boddie recounted what he said was some, but not all, of what he knows about his son. At times while discussing his wife and children, Boddie appeared to alternate between anger and anguish. His cellphone rang several times. At one point he answered, paused, unleashed an expletive-laced torrent of words and marched out of the apartment with the phone to his ear. He later said the caller was an assistant of Michael Vick's who asked what he planned to disclose to a reporter and urged him to keep quiet."I know some things," Boddie said. "That's why they're going crazy."He said he's not perfect. He said he hasn't worked since 2003, went through drug rehab in 2004 paid for by his son, was sometimes high or drunk around his children when they were young, has gotten in trouble for drinking and driving and had his driver's license revoked."There are some things I wish I could go back and change," he said. But Boddie said he gave Vick something that most kids didn't have in the Newport News housing projects where both grew up: "I never left his side. Never left his mother's side. And where we come from, this day and time, that's a hell of a thing."He and Vick's mother weren't married when Michael Vick was born. But they married later and Boddie said he lived with the family from the time Vick was 3 years old until after his eldest son went to Virginia Tech to play football. He said he was usually working during Vick's youth, often on jobs sandblasting and repainting ships. He said he is frustrated about continued suggestions that Vick was raised without a father. He said his son and wife should have set the record straight. But in a 2001 AJC article about their son, his wife was quoted as saying that Boddie's presence in Vick's childhood "means a lot to me.""He was always there, providing, taking care of what needed to be taken care of. Through everything, we stayed together as a family. I have a lot of respect for him for that."But in other press reports, both Michael Vick and his mother suggested that Boddie was an emotionally distant father. He "never paid that much attention to me," Vick said, according to a Sports Illustrated story in 2000.Boddie said that, over the last year, his son has been disrespecting him, "talking to me like I'm one of his . . . dogs."Boddie said he's tried to look out for his son. Around 2002, while at Vick's rural property near Smithfield, Va., he warned his son."I told him basically, 'You don't need to be doing this. You got bigger fish to fry. You got more important things that you can do.' "Boddie recalled telling his son to transfer the property to the name of one of his friends: " 'Take this place right now, put it in one of their names because if anything goes wrong . . . it's you they coming after.' "Boddie said he doesn't recall his son's reply.Boddie also said dogfighting occurred at the family's Newport News home on Terrace Drive. The family was in the house for about a year or more as Vick moved from playing college football at Virginia Tech to the pros.Boddie said he cleaned out the home's garage three times in 2001 to make room for dogfighting sessions held by Vick and his friends."I hung around long enough to actually walk in there when an actual dogfight was going on," Boddie said, but he added that he didn't stay long."It wasn't my thing," he said.He said he had already witnessed test fights of dogs — in which dogs battle to see how well a prospective fighter will perform."It's really something to stand there and watch. You have to have the stomach for it," he said.Boddie said Michael Vick kept pit bulls in eight cages in the backyard of the Terrace Drive home. However, a neighbor, Willie-Mae Hansell, said she only saw one dog at the house, and never heard anything unusual there."I fed the dogs," Boddie said. "I've nursed them back to health, dogs that have been in fights. Raised litters of puppies."The injured dogs could barely muster up enough strength to eat at first, he said.Boddie contends that Vick's mother was aware of the dogfighting and said he heard her tell her son to stop it.Boddie said of his son: "I think he basically told her, 'OK, Mama. OK, I'll stop.' "Boddie said he wasn't aware of any dogfighting in the Newport News projects when Vick grew up there. The closest he recalled was kids being fascinated as dogs chased stray cats in a nearby lumber yard.He said that, despite his earlier warnings to his son, he never expected Vick would someday face the dogfighting troubles he is in now."I thought he would have gotten out of it by then, gotten it out of his system."

~Banjo~ A Rotties Story

WE ARE THIS DOGS LAST HOPE

Hi my name is Banjo and I am lucky to have found my way to the local animal shelter. An animal control officer found me wandering down the highway, and in pretty bad shape. I arrived smelling of oil and grease with a rope tied around my neck. Not to mention my bones showing, an eye missing , and wounds to my body. I had my temperament test done and passed with flying colors. (This poor dog who had someone or something rip his eye out of the socket, maybe drag him down the street tied to a vehicle with terrible wounds on his back and starved to death passed with flying colors.) How could this poor loving dog receive such a wonderful evaluation with all that has happened to him? He is described as extremely friendly and even wags his nub and loves yes LOVES people. He is comfortable with his entire body being touched. He will sit with some assistance. He is well behaved on leash and shows no toy possession. He even plays a little fetch. When he met a cat he wagged his nub but did not jump up to get the cat on the counter. He shows little or no interest in other dogs, boys or girls, big or small. He rides well and is sweet and quiet. The shelter says he has an excellent personality to be a great companion despite his poor health condition. He would be gentle for children or older adults.

UPDATE-8/8/07 Jay(NCRR volunteer) picks up Banjo from his temp foster home in Raleigh. Banjo sees him and runs to him….YESRUNS to him. He remembers him from the first day he was brought into the NCRRfoster program and from his trip from Burlingtonto Raleigh this past weekend. We almost cried. Banjo was evaluated by Dr. Betts today and will have FHO surgery today for his broken hip. Dr. Betts is hopeful for a full recovery as Banjo has been trying to walk on the leg with the broken hip. Hispelvic fracture is healing. Dr. Betts will check out the surgery site where hiseye was removed to ensure it is healing well. Xrays will be taken of his faceif needed. His pelvic fracture is healing well so no worries there. Itis believed Banjo can be transported to his FUREVER home this weekend and doPhysical Therapy at home instead of going to a rehab facility. Estimated cost of Banjo’s FHO is $1400.00, a betterprice than the original estimate of $3500 It is thought that Banjo may be the product of a dogfighting ring considering the bite wounds on his back and that he may have beenbeat by a person with a blunt object. I guess we will never know whatreally happened to poor Banjo. NCRR is asking all the Rottie lovers out there to donatemoney to help pay for Banjo's medical treatment. All donations are taxdeductible and can be made thru pay pal or sent to NCRR 5613 Old Ridge RoadRaleigh, NC 27610. Please put Banjo in the memo OR you can make adonation by pay pal to ncrottierescue@gmail.com A receipt will be mailed to you. A HUGE thank you goesout to the people who have already sent in donations.

UPDATE~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 8/1 UPDATE: The vet who removed Banjo’s eye has informed us he will need to have his face wired together due to the cheek being broken. He is not growing any new bone in his face to close the bones that are broken. UPDATE: Banjo’s eye was removed Friday, July 27, 2007. When the vet found the eye she noted it was almost split in half. Xrays show his cheek is broken in 3 places. This confirms he was hit in the head with a blunt object. The vet also did “plastic” surgery on the gash below Banjo’s eye. Xrays of his hip were sent to an orthopedist and it was discovered he has a broken hip. He will be referred to have his hip repaired. NCRR is collecting donations for his hip surgery. His eye surgery was paid for by a very generous kind person who is adopting Cindy. Thank you Joan! We do not have a price on Banjo’s hip surgery but we expect it will be expensive. Banjo has no idea he just lost his eye and has a broken hip. He is the ideal companion and is very loving. Many people have expressed interest in adopting him and giving him a loving furever home. He has a family waiting for him in PA but we have to “fix” his hip before he can go home

Update 7/23/07: Banjo arrives at his NCRR foster home. What a wonderful boy! Just wonderful and beautiful! The wounds on his back are not burns-they are dog bites...healing well, hair is growing back. There is an eye where it was originally thought that there was no eye. He may have been beaten with a blunt object. Banjo will go to the vet to get xrays of his face to see what damage has been done to his face to make his eye sink into his head. He has started using his back leg....we are waiting to see what progress is made with him putting weight on it. It is obvious Banjo's medical expenses are going to be extra ordinary. He may require facial reconstruction or the eye may not be able to be saved. The best news is that Banjo has an adoptive home waiting for him. Now we have to get him all 'fixed" up and beautiful to go home.

Please visit The North Carolina Rottweiler rescue website and make a donation to help me get through all i need to ! and Thanks for opening your heart to help me ! http://www.ncrottierescue.net/

Making Legit Money On Line

Welcome to Making Legit Money On Line

Let me start off by saying this.....

NO matter what anyone tells you, It is not so EASY, making money online. Making a good living and I mean one that keeps you honest and keeps a person from scamming others involves TIME invested. There are so many ways to make money online. But, most people want a QUICK way to do it.

Anyone who earns a substantual amount of money online will tell you it did NOT nor will it happen over night. If they tell you that you will, they have fabricated the truth. It takes time, and skill to make what any of those guys make. So, be wise, and do your resarch. DO not just waste your money on the GET RICH QUICK schemes.

The bottom line is this..... There are alot of WOLVES in sheep clothing selling bull dung and titulating honest hard working people out of their hard working money. Do not be a FOOLED, nor be snared into thinking it is EASY.

With that said~Yes, with time, and with the knowledge you will gain, you will become more skilled, but that my friend, does not MAKE you wealthy over night, you get out what you invest into....

"You can put blue prints in front of me, on HOW to build a house, but, until I can grasp or understand the blue prints, I can only show you the plans. The overall picture looks great. I may have the best plot of land, but it takes ALOT of work, and skill, and determination to even get to the level, that MASTER Carpenters get to. Skill requires a lot of time, and energy, let alone, the resources.

Don't you want to get it, don't you want to UNDERSTAND, and Comprehend what you are doing.... “It's going to be a struggle, and it is going to take time, but KNOW this that when that light bulb goes off in your head and you comprehend what you know, ~> then, It will become WISDOM!"

“Too often because we live in a "Microwave" society people want INSTANT gratification....but honestly the truth is, Anyone who makes a generous amount of money online will tell you. It takes skill, time, and failure before success!

Rome was no built in a day. TIME can be your friend, embrace it, and it can be your mentor, and it can be your training ground for your success.... Our Life staples are... "Integrity, Honesty, and Quality" ~~Sometimes you have to transplant so the roots can grow deeper.....That is my experience and my advice~

NOW, if you are still interested read on. I am not going to blow hot air at you, nor will I fabricate the facts.

I think that one thing that is on alot of peoples minds these days, is the question, "Will social security be around when I am at the ripe old age of retiring?"I know we think about it all the time. A person MUST think about their financial future. We can not trust that social security will be around, the way that our Leaders are handling this right now.

Also~ With the BIG corporations down sizing to fatter their wallets, a faithful employee has to wonder if their job is secure. What can a person do to make their Own money, on their own terms. This is ~OUR STORY~

Wouldn't you enjoy being your own boss, having no one to answer to except your maker! Are things in order for your future? The Internet is Full of Great ideas, but WHO can you trust? What is for real? What product or packages can you trust?

It amazes me that in the course of buying material, packages or products online, you know that these people are making money by what they have described, but they're not telling you the whole story. They've sold you the general idea, the process, but they leave something out. They leave out the part about how to make it work, they leave out that you need the skills, the resources and the framework supporting their entire idea.

The Profit Lance Course is a training ground that educates you. It is a product that excels in its content, its value and its benefit. I love that it is an interactive learning environment in the sense that you have a learning area to grasp the basics, then you are given project tasks that give you first hand experience. The Profit Lance System A revolutionary wealth system that empowers users with the necessary knowledge and skills to literally create money at will using multiple income streams. It's no secret that the Internet gurus who have been making millions have kept their killer techniques to themselves while revealing everything but the Core Elements to their success.

Now that tradition is broken, and you can be one of the first to profit wildly from a completely automated, comprehensive turn~key system that earns you money while you are taking are of LIFE stuff, your day job, chasing your kids around, driving kids to and from, and sleeping!I am exhausted just thinking about all of that....

Life is a Journey!~

Life is a Journey~
"Nothing on earth can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude" -- Thomas Jefferson

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Blossoming is a part of Life!
Are you where you want to be in your personal life? Are you holding on to your past failures? Has someone abused you, whether physically or emotionally? Do you blame others for your present situation you are in? Are you in a relationship that keeps you paralized from becomeing the person you know you are meant to be? How many times have you told yourself NO one will ever hurt me again? "The strongest oak of the forest is not the one that is protected from the storm and hidden from the sun. It's the one that stands in the open where it is compelled to struggle for its existence against the winds and rains and the scorching sun."

- Napoleon Hill

Life is a journey, with every step we create our destiny.
With every decision we chart our course....

There is something about turning 40 that shifts feelings, causes a person to question their lifes, and think about things more deeply.
I have had alot of ups and downs, a great deal of Joy, a season of sadness, a battle of depression, a struggle that has brought me to this place that I am in right now. ---Jill Christine

"If you want to know your past - look into your present conditions. If you want to know your future - look into your present actions."
-- Buddhist Saying

I am a Hair Stylist... I have been doing Hair for 24 years. I Love doing hair. I have Master'd my craft. I especially Love doing color, and foils. I am an artist.. Fo Sure!

Love art, GOTHIC, Dark pictures, and well, alot of interesting stuff. ~~I offer friendship, and support to women, whether they are single, or married, in relationships, or just life in general, support and Friendship...

~FEW get passed the walls I have built up around myself. Not everyone understands me. I am the class clown, and am sarcastic, YET~ I can be sensitive, I can feel passive agressive digs others may throw my way. Only my closest friends who have earned my hard-to-get trust know who I really am inside. I can get depressed and not always know why.

When someone turns to me when they need advice, I sometimes can be empathetic, other times, I can be impatient with the person who seeks advice, when really the person wants others to feel sorry for them, or if they have no intention on listening. People who want to hear me tickle their ear, with the pitty party they live in. I want to say "Own your shit man, do the right thing. Even if it means you were wrong, be a BIG person, say your sorry, and change!"

I have lost all patience with pursuing people that take my friendship for granted. I am no longer wasting anymore of my time!

I have no tolerance for FOOLS! A FOOL is someone who TALKS to hear them self talk, and someone who is out for ONLY their self! I do not have patience for someone who is manipulitive. I Dispise being used, set~up or manipulated. I can sence it, I can feel it! I won't have anything to do with it.

Despite my impassive exterior and high seemingly unbreachable walls, inside I really am a caring, lovng, giving good, fun, person, full of compassion and love, if only people would dare take a chance and try to get through my hard, tough shell. I may be VERY resistant.. .I feel Respect is earned, I give Respect where it is due, and to those who deserve it. I give RESPECT when it is EARNED.

I am in Love with a man that has been my Rock, my strong arm, and my soul mate.

I have a 21 year old step son, who has grown into a very dear young man. We have 3 dogs. Harley, Hannah and Sugar.

I am the one that the little children are always drawn to, because they know I'll never let anything hurt them, and I always am a candy junkie for them....The kids all know where the candy is in our house... I have the gift of Discerment and at times, alot of times, I am very intuitive.. Sometimes it is even scary what I can see or sense from a person, or what I can almost see that is going to maybe happen.. I am a pretty good judge of character, and I sometimes come in contact with those who get under my skin, rub me the wrong way, and people who just irritate the piss out of me.....I have been pretty right on the money on most things, and situations....The power to see objects or events that cannot be perceived by the normal five senses....

My husband and I tried to have a child together. My husband had a reversal vesectamy, Yeh, he LOVES me guys! But, after 3 diffrent surgeries, fertility drugs, tears, emotional roller coaster ride, and arguments between hubby and I. I decided that I would lay my desire at the feet of my GOD.

I struggled with so many emotions. I just couldn't understand WHY I went thru all of this pain and NOTHING to show from it. I was bitter for many years. I wantted to be a Mommy so bad, I could taste it. I felt empty, I felt like I was nutured, and not female. I felt like a failure. I felt abandoned by my creator. I felt so much, and all of those emotions threw me into a very deep depression, and I turned my back on what I thought was truth. I felt cheated, and I felt defeated. Life Sucked, and I told GOD, (I mean I screamed at him,) "LEAVE ME ALONE!"

What I am about to say is something that I have come to Know, and Embrace. It took many years of therapy, alot of blood, sweat and tears. I was able to Resolve my inner rift with GOD, and come to the revelation, *Having a child does not make me any more of a whole woman, I had to struggle with GOD to get to this place, where I have an inner peace and an inner contentment about who I am. Having a baby, and being a Mom does not define me.

Being content is not an over night experience, as much as forgiving someone is not an immediate emotion. Being resolve to work hard at any thing involves committment enduance, and patience.

Once you decide to go down that path, it will never be easy. At times, it seems like there is NO light at the end of the tunnel. BUT.... there is a glimmer, if not at times, there seems to be a ray of light in a very far distance. So you may ask, how do you feel about not being able to have a child? Well, I am on the other side and here to tell you that GOD has used that suffering for the good. At this point, I have no regrets. I am Thankful for my life. My past has made me a better person. I am still growing as a person, there are things about myself that lure their ugly head. But.... I am still on a journey. I am content....

Thank GOD!

"The pessimist borrows trouble; the optimist lends encouragement."

Tired of business opportunities that do not deliver what they promise?

Hey there...

You may be in a similar situation that we were in. ~After college, my husband started his career in the Health Care Industry, switched OVER TO working for an investor, Reality Group and finally a LONG 17 year Food service Career with Manhattan Coffee. The World of small companies as they grow get bought by Larger Companies. My case Nestle foods, Chock Full of Nuts, and Finally Sara Lee. When the Larger Companies come in, So DOES DOWN SIZING!

So we decided we have to do something. We are taking matters into our own hands, and arming ourselves with the skills to lay a foundation to learn what it really takes to make a legitimate and steady flow of income.

After much research, (which I highly advise, anyone researching any of the Make Money Online Products out there) Yes I did figure out What I didn't like about The Rich Jerk, or The Ultimate Wealth Package, they claim that they claim to give you a free website worth hundreds or over a thousand dollars, but in reality, you have to buy hosting for it. This will cost you just short of $100 per year. The hosting that you buy results in commission for the owners of these programs. The same is the case with Ultimate Wealth Package. In terms of content, Ultimate Wealth Package provides the same as Forex Enterprise more or less, "but it does add a lot of bonuses. " Again, you are not given real in-depth know how. Just an introduction to the techniques and you don't walk away from the product as if you have understood what is really going on. I was a bit frustrated, and confused.

I am a big stickler on Customer Service. Both myself, and my husband have made our living on GOOD customer service. I can not stand when you are spending your own hard earned money and the product your purchasing is basiclly garbage, low quality, or the person, store, or service is cheap and your inquiring is not given any cosideration. The bottome line to those people is getting in your wallet.

Do you ever get the feeling in your research that the product your considering has so much hype, and bogus promises, that you KNOW are empty promises? I don't know about you, but I absolutely hate that feeling I feel when I realize, I was just scammed! I feel like such an IDIOT! Then every once in a while, it seems like the universe is alighned just right and thing come across your path that seem to good to be true. 9 times out of 10 they are too good to be true. RARELY~ you come across a Product, and you get that feeling of peace in your belly, and your hope in humanity seems to be restored. With a 20% reservation, and 80% of trust, you take the plunge, and invest in something once again. That was our story.....

Honestly, I am not really sure how I came across The Profit Lance Online Course ~>I know what your thinking, Another person trying to scam me!?!?! Actually, no we are not.
